Is it over with the wild rockstar life?
Bill (17) and Tom (17) from Germanys most successful band Tokio hotel have to go to the federal-army!
According to reliable sources the twins have received a disturbing letter at home.
In this letter they are asked to fill out a test as preparation for their inspection.
Since the twins haven’t responded to this letter they have received a new one from the army. This time it isn’t a polite one. This letter says: Please be warned that refusing to cooperate in the inspection can result in a fine!
Are the twins trying to get out of their duty? Now the future of the band has to be replanned.
How will Bill and Tom combine their duties in the army with there music career?
Will their next tour be the last one?
Will they even ever record a new album?
“In the army there is no special treatment”, tells Uwe Ullrich (64), leader of the troops. “Who doesn’t do his duty in the army can be arrested by the police.”
When someone turns 18 they will be inspected and cleared for the army. Bill and Tom will be 18 very soon on 1. September.
The alternative would be civil services. But this is only done as an exception.
This is for example done when the person is married or has kids.
How will this go for Bill and Tom?
The twins and there management weren’t willing to give a response.
Is it allowed to wear make-up and have black nails in the army ?
What can Bill and Tom expect in the army? An employee from the ministry will give Bild the most important answers.
Do they have to cut off all their hair?
Yes, it can’t reach over the ears or in the neck.
Can Bill still wear his make-up and black nails?
No – they get camouflage colours.
Are piercings allowed?
Because of safety reasons, they aren’t allowed.
What kind of clothes must they wear?
They get army-clothes, in their free time it is their own business.
Can fans visit them at the barracks?
Officially, the one visited has to give permission. They have to make a request first to visit
